gym class

I reminded Matilda this morning that she had gym class at kindergarten today so she needed to wear shorts and sneakers. She always complains mightily when I don’t let her wear dresses. And when she came out to the living room after getting dressed she saw me in jeans and a t-shirt, and she looked me up and down, cocked her head to the side and said, “So, do you have gym class today too?”

This is only funny because I only have one pair of pants and almost always wear skirts or dresses.

And I realize that that’s one thing Matilda and I have in common, we are always dressing up when we don’t have to.
