Tallulah turns 8 today

January 13, 2009

Today is Tallulah’s 8th birthday. She is my eldest daughter, and so this of course means that I have been a mother for eight years. That is a mind-boggling concept, so I shall not dwell on that right now.

Some things, based on my own observations, about Tallulah, age 8:

Tallulah is in 2nd grade.
Tallulah enjoys reading, especially the Clarice Bean, Harry Potter, and Spiderwick Chronicles series.
Tallulah prefers to wear blue jeans, a long-sleeved t-shirt, and a hooded sweatshirt. She does not like skirts or dresses.
Tallulah enjoys writing letters to her friends, her grandmother, and her auntie.
Tallulah’s favorite bands or musical artists right now appear to be: Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., and Franz Ferdinand.
Tallulah knows all the words to the Estelle song “American Boy.”
Tallulah also knows the words to “Talulah Gosh” by Talulah Gosh.
Tallulah’s favorite foods include noodles, dumplings, and tangerines.
Tallulah is the “mayor” of her class at school and helps to settle disputes among her classmates.
Tallulah has incredible posture.
Tallulah is clever, quick, and kind, but she also knows exactly which mean words to say to hurt her sister when her sister is bothering her.
